First session: test session...

The first session took place in spring 2011 with the aim of honing critical procedures around sessions of blind tasting.
Unlike the later sessions, the bottles have not been submitted by producers, but we bought them ourselves.
We tried to balance somewhat the bottles by mixing high-end whiskys withcurrent and financially affordable ones..
The following bottles were part of the lot:

  1. Port Ellen (Duncan Taylor), Rarest of the Rare, 27 years
  2. Ardmore (The Nectar), Daily Dram, 18 years
  3. Dailuaine (Officiel), Fauna & Flora, 16 years
  4. Glenlivet (Murray MacDavid) Celtic Heartlands 1977-2010, 33 years
  5. Tobermory (Officiel), 10 years
  6. Ledaig (Tobermory) (Officiel) 10 years.
19 tasters attended the session, and the average points scored by the bottles is between 87.16 for the Port Ellen to 79.84 for the Tobermory 10 years.
Each bottle is listed separately on this blog, with the highest score and the lowest obtained. For details of all the tasting notes, you must go on  the corresponding page on the site.
