In every competition it has to be there a year. For this session, the Tobermory10 years who took this place. Another bottle modest and very affordable (34euros), this bottle has collected once again very different notes according to the tasters: between 88 and 60. Be a large gap of 28 points. The average of all the tastings is 79.84 for this bottle.
Here are the extremes notes:

Jean-Michel

Colour: Old gold Nose: I like it! Ripe fruit and concentration. Apricot nectar. Kiwi jam. Fruity and something like warm cake pulled out of the oven. Genoese hot. Savarin with pineapple. Many wood extracts. Vanilla ice cream with banana, cinnamon ... Very appetizing. Also something oily. Candle wax. Linseed oil. Taste: Does not betray the nose. Even more spice, perhaps (cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla), and the same bawdy pastry and fruit. An American new oak? Non chill filtered whisky anyway, and the alcohol percentage is located in the lower range. This does not prevent the sensations in the mouth to be good. Fat and tastefully. Sweet and creamy, but maintained by a small acidity that avoids heaviness. Final: Decline on the rose petal. Hurry! I need another sip! Comment: A very nice malt, very consensual (and for once this is not a criticism), which by its "easy drinkable character" will satisfy any gourmand, experienced amateur or beginners.

Alouis

Color: Amber Nose: The nose marked by sherry notes with high sulfur. I do not like sulfur in a whisky but after 30 min of ventilation a few other flavors were discovered behind but, you still have to shop around. So we have then caramel, sweet notes, some spice and orange. Palate: The palate does not show sulfur, thank you. But there is an astringency due to wood and not much more. Short finish.

Dans chaque compétition il faut bien qu'il y ait un dernier. Pour cette session, c'est le Tobermory 10 ans qui a pris cette place. Autre bouteille modeste et très abordable (34 euros), cette bouteille a recueilli des notes une fois de plus très diverses selon les dégustateurs: entre 88 et 60. Soit un important écart de 28 points. La moyenne de toutes les dégustations est de 79,84 pour cette bouteille.
Voici les notes extrêmes:

Jean-Michel

Couleur : Vieil or Nez : Ça me plaît ! Du fruit bien mûr et de la concentration. Nectar d'abricot.Confiture de kiwi. Fruité, et très pâtissier. Génoise chaude. Savarin à l'ananas. Beaucoup d'extraits de bois. Vanille, crème glacée à la banane, cannelle... Vraiment très appétissant. Egalement quelque chose de huileux. Cire à bougie. Huile de lin. Bouche : Ne trahit en rien le nez. Encore plus d'épices peut-être (cannelle, muscade, vanille), et la même débauche pâtissière et fruitée. Un fût neuf américain ? Un whisky non filtré à froid, en tout cas, et au titre alcoolique situé dans la fourchette basse. Ce qui n'empêche pas les sensations en bouche d'être bonnes. Du gras et du goût. Suave et crémeux, mais bien maintenu par une petite acidité qui évite toute lourdeur. Finale : Décline sur la pétale de rose. Vite ! Il me faut une nouvelle gorgée ! Commentaire : Un très beau malt, très consensuel (et pour une fois ce n'est pas un reproche), qui par sa facilité à se laisser boire satisfera tous les gourmands, débutants comme amateurs chevronnés.

Alouis

Couleur : ambré Nez: Un nez marqué par le sherry avec de fortes notes soufrées. Je n'apprécie pas le souffre dans un whisky mais après 30 min d'aération on a quelques autres arômes derrière, faut quand même bien chercher. On a donc ensuite du caramel, des notes sucrées, quelques épices et de l'orange. Bouche: En bouche pas de souffre, merci. Par contre on a une astringence dû aux bois et pas grand chose d'autres. Finale courte.
